We are onto day 13!
Again we took the train to Funabashi station, where Tim's friend Kim met us. We then had a 90 minute drive to a small fishing town, where we were due to go visit some ancient relics on a mountain. The first stop was lunch, and since all the restaraunts allow people to smoke in them, we headed to 7/11. In Japan, 7/11 is so different. They own a clothing brand, sell dinner boxes, and they are actually called "sevens and holdings".
Anyways, we bought a dinner box each and they heated them up for us. We also stopped by a german cake factory, and bought some Baumkuchen. Then we had a picnic with a view of mount Fuji.
Then came the hiking. In total, we climbed over 1,700 steps up and back. Our legs were so sore the day after, but the views were worth it. We sat eating microwave scones as we watched the sun set over tigers rock. The main highlight of the day was the giant budda that we saw. It is the biggest in Japan, and completely made out of stone.
