New years eve, The Lion King, Meeting the emporer and The Skybus

I am combining three different blogs because they were only half days.

First, new years eve. We arrived home from whatever we did already that day, i've forgotten already, and we slept until 10.30.
We then travelled to the sunshine city observation deck.
It was a little cheesy. The entertainment before midnight were four people wearing undies over their pants and rapping.
Anyway... Midnight came and went. At midnight there was a big cheer, but there were no fireworks. Apparently its not a big deal in Japan.

We then slept in till two in the afternoon, when Tim took us to a suprise outing. It turned out to be a japanese version of the broadway musical, The Lion King.
It was absolutely amazing! although it was in Japanese, I knew the story so it sort of made sense. The costumes, effects and props were crazy!
Mum took videos of it even though she wasn't allowed to, but blogspot isn't letting me put them on.
:(

The next day, The emporer made a speech about the new year. It took us about 20 minutes to get through all the lines. When he came out onto the balcony the crowd went wild! waving flags and shouting in japanese.

and finally today we took a tour on the skybus. Its basically a double decker bus with an open top and a tour guide. we went over the rainbow bridge and under the Tokyo Tower, which is taller than the Eiffel Tower.

Love from Gen
